So the Brooklyn Art Library in New York came up with this really awesome project called the sketchbook project, and it looks like they started it last year and had just under 10,000 artists mail in their sketchbooks in 2011. The library tours the sketchbook exhibit to about 14 major cities, and then they catalog them and they are stored permanently for anyone to view at the library.
