Eva Funderburgh uses porcelain clay to explore a whimsical aspect of these creatures. She works on exploring the colors natural to the clay and the finishing process of woodfire. I think the miniature size of the clay figure is very simplistic but effective and the natural woodfire finish shows off the simplistic but complex nature. The whimsical approach to these creatures is something I am not usually attracted to, but because of the woodfire finish and natural quality I love these little clay creations.
