Livia Marin

These series of ceramic, Nomad Patterns, is made by Livia Marin. Each piece appears to be melting while maintaining its original printed pattern. I usually prefer art that is functional and artistic at the same time. Even though I can't really find a functional aspect for these ceramic pieces, I like the idea of melted ceramic. At first glance, you might think the piece is ruined, broken or melted. But for the next couple of seconds you realize that it creates another piece of art or leads you to another domain of art. Brilliant ideas.
