Amy Cooper is a ceramicist from the UK who focuses in
porcelain lighting. I like how she uses the way the light plays with the
porcelain to create a piece that effects the environment around it, such as
with these globes:
I also like how she uses organic shapes and nature inspired
imagery.
She has also done sculpture such as this chair. I think it’s
a really interesting concept, having a piece of furniture, a domestic piece,
set into nature. It’s monumental-izing a sign of civilization, while at the same
time making it a part of the environment.
